Awake, Ye Soldiers of the Latter Rain

In a dream vision I saw a group of soldiers clustered together in a forested rural area. Instead of standing in formation with a visible leader, they were disorganized and appeared scared. They kept shouting the word, “Jesus!” individually instead of as a chorus. The soldiers were a mix of races, but predominantly African American. They felt they were in danger but didn’t know where the enemy was. When it began to rain, they took shelter under a rock overhang. I felt empathy for them.

When I asked the Holy Spirit for interpretation of this dream vision, I received several answers over time. The fact that many of the soldiers were African American symbolizes how Americans are being manipulated into a race war. People are directed to perceive an enemy as white or black without seeing the spiritual and political war going on behind the simplistic yet emotion-triggering, blinding propaganda. Actual soldiers of all races in the military are feeling the tension and disconnection more each day as they are being asked to step in to control the growing civil unrest on the Left and the Right that they are personally conflicted about.

The fact that the “Jesus!” shouting soldiers in the dream appeared lost and confused also reveals that Christian military soldiers will be surprised when they are increasingly suspected as potentially disloyal (their ultimate Lord is Jesus, not the state). They will be stigmatized and marginalized. Their patriotism to the nation’s new regime, quite different than the America they signed up to protect, will be challenged. Eventually Christian soldiers will be prohibited from using the name of Jesus during their job, the very name they know to be so powerful and protective. That explains why in the dream vision, the Christian soldiers were shouting the name of Jesus. In the woods with other Christian soldiers, they had the precious freedom to call upon their Lord and Savior while in uniform.

At another level, the soldiers in the dream vision represent members of God’s End Time Army who have been dormant and are just waking up to their identity. As most Christians today, they were not prepared by their church leaders for their role in this unfolding Tribulation time, so they are understandably lost and confused. They call on Jesus individually, but have little organization to effectively fight the Antichrist movement growing larger and bolder with each passing day. Many are not yet fully activated and equipped Christians. Without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and having incompletely repented of their sin, they don’t hear the voice of Jesus and God the Father as clearly as they should and don’t perceive their mission within the larger plan. Few understand that today’s disciples especially are called to practice spiritual warfare and to cast out demons in Jesus’s name as His apostles did long ago.

In the dream vision, when the rain came, the soldiers took shelter under a natural rock overhang. God will indeed provide shelter from storms, but He will also provide the “latter rain” of the gifts of the Spirit for members of His End Time Army who will assist in bringing in the Harvest of souls to Jesus and God’s Kingdom. Selah.

Joel 2:23-29 (KJV)

23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God:

For he hath given you the former rain moderately,

And he will cause to come down for you the rain,

The former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

24 And the floors shall be full of wheat,

And the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.

25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten,

The cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm,

My great army which I sent among you.

26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied,

And praise the name of the Lord your God,

That hath dealt wondrously with you:

And my people shall never be ashamed.

27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel,

And that I am the Lord your God, and none else:

And my people shall never be ashamed.

28 And it shall come to pass afterward,

That I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh;

And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

Your old men shall dream dreams,

Your young men shall see visions:

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids

In those days will I pour out my spirit.
