Authority in His Name

I recently listened to a teaching on Authority in God. It was intense! But last night the Lord brought it to mind in a dream, and it was as if I were wrestling all night and losing the battle. And when I awoke this morning, God started speaking to me about His Name and His Authority that He gave us as spiritual weapons, as we are to walk in the Spirit, not in the flesh.
There is no spiritual power in the flesh. Yes, some people are physically strong, but I am referring to the fleshly sinful nature. When we walk in the Spirit, we are to ‘Cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.’ It involves a process called the Renewing of our minds.
There is no authority in any other name except Yeshua/Jesus. This name, Jesus is the above every Name! We need to understand that it is so much the name, but the person, savior, God behind the name. Yeshua or Jesus was a common name. But the man who goes by this name, is the miracle Son of the Living God. He is born of a virgin, and being the 2nd Adam, His birth had to be unique and special. The original Adam was created, never having parents. God was his parent. Just as God is Jesus’ parent. A blood sample from the Ark of the Covenant found by Ron Wyatt showed that the man was truly unique indeed, He had only one DNA strip from His mother and a Y chromosome from His Father. This showed that He was not only from a virgin birth, but that He was deity. If a woman could conceived by herself, it would always be a female. Mary had a male child which required a Y chromosone. God Himself fathered this miracle child. So we absolutely can say this man was God incarnate. And His name was the Name above every name.
And after He rose from the dead, He was seen by multitudes of people. This name terrifies demons, this name can move mountains. This name can heal the sick and raise the dead! There is power in that name. But once again our mind need to be renewed in this revelation. You will get no where if you doubt.
Christ said to His disciples, “But I Say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”. To walk in the Spirit requires us to be more heavenly minded, guided by His Word, and not our fleshly ways. Those fleshly ways are sin to us, and must be cast down. When we became born again, you probably had a strong feeling of what God requires of us. He wrote His commandments on our hearts. I was radically transformed when I became born again. So much so, my parents had a hard time accepting the new me. I did not want to do the things that displeased my Lord. His laws were written on my heart, I just knew what God required of me, and I had joy.
So to walk in the Spirit requires us to have the mind of Christ. And to have the mind of Christ requires the Renewing of our minds. We must get into the Word and saturate ourselves in the Word. This is a process. Many people feel that they have sins that they cannot deal with nor overcome. It was like that for me. I would be on my face in tears, pleading that He would take away that burden.
When I renewed my mind, I found that sin had no place in me. I learned to not dwell on the sinful thoughts and I started getting results. When I thought about the sin, I brought up a scripture that countered it. I overcame the sin temptation with God’s Word. The freedom I felt was awesome and this opened the door to greater understanding of spiritual warfare.
Of course this whole process requires us to be in the Word. The Word is our power source and a weapon. Which brings us to His Authority.
The first Adam, lost the Dominion (authority) that the Lord gave man kind, when he ate the forbidden fruit. God gave us Dominion over the world. The serpent (Satan) took it by deception and became the ruler of this world. Sin had entered the world. But the good news is that Jesus (the 2nd Adam) won back the world so that man would once again have Dominion and that is what Jesus was preparing His disciples for. Jesus never taught His disciples on ‘how to heal people’. But rather, He taught them Authority, and Faith.* And this authority is having dominion.
Christ had complete authority to cast out demons, heal the sick, and raise the dead. He verbally gave them the authority when he sent them out. They returned rejoicing that the demons were subject to them.
It wasn’t until Christ suffered the beatings, and the crucifixion, and rising from the dead, that He regained absolute Dominion again and victory over Satan. He gave us his authority to do His work. Up till this time, the only ones that did miracles were His prophets. Now it was opened to all His children. He desires that His children would walk in this new authority, and take Dominion, to heal the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead. We do this because this is the same job Adam was called to do. He was the care taker for the world and everything in it. Which included the seas, the land, plant and animal life.
God provided an armor for us, and gave us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. But once again, we need to renew our minds to this concept. Man kind is God’s concern at this point.
The Lord said, Go into all the world to heal the sick, raise the dead and preach the good news. But you won’t go far without faith. We need to know God and seek Him in His Word. We all were given a measure of faith, but we need to exercise our faith to be strong. Body builders exercise to gain a muscular body and physical strength… Likewise we need to exercise our faith by studying scripture then stepping out to take authority over illness, spiritual attacks on family, friends, country, finances, health plagues, etc….. Practice makes perfect!
You will never have strong faith if you don’t use it. A body builder does not get that muscular body overnight. It takes effort, discipline and a little grit or determination to continue day by day to achieve the goal.
You must remember, that it is not you who heals. It is God who heals.. All that is required of us is Faith in God to do His part. Jesus never prayed for sick people, He command eyes to open, stuck fingers into deaf ears. Put mud on blind eyes, commanding people to take up their beds and go home. It was them acting in obedience and faith that brought forth the results. Jesus said “According to your faith be it unto you.” So if you had Leprosy you could be missing fingers, toes or even your nose. Jesus would come up and ask what you needed. “A healing of my leprosy.” Now according to the man’s faith he may walk away with no more leprosy, but could still be missing fingers and toes. But those that could believe for everything walked away whole. This is the difference between faith and great faith. We all have a measure, but it’s up to you, in how strong it is.
Jesus said, “If you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, “Be removed and cast into the sea, it will be done, and whatever things you ask for in prayer, believing you will receive them.”
Please note though what He said here, you also have authority over plants too. You can curse a tree or calm a storm, stop a tornado. Did Jesus not demonstrate this by walking on water and calming storms?
” Most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also, and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father, and what ever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
Think of all that Jesus did, He’s saying you, can do this too! In fact He said you can do greater works than He did. In this scripture, it suggests faith, but also the use of His name.
There were three people, Jesus was very impressed with. They had Great faith. The woman with the issue of blood, that said to herself, ‘If only I touch the hem of His garment, I will be made well”. The second was a foreign woman who daughter was afflicted with demons. Jesus said that it wasn’t right to give the children’s bread Dr to the little dogs. And she responded, Yes master, but even the little dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters table.
The third was the Centurion who understood authority. He was under authority, and also others were under his authority. He said, say the word only, and my servant will be healed.
Police Officers have authority over the public, to enforce the laws and maintain order. But their authority is only as good as the authority they are under. They represent a City or a County and answers to positions of greater authority. But God sets up government’s and they were put in there by God. Soldiers, police, politician’s, judges, teacher’s, and many other jobs all have levels of authority and God demands us to respect and obey those over us. We also as sons and daughters of God have authority. Not only do we have authority, but we have it over government issues, medical issues, Schools Boards, and pretty much everything. And when these systems mess up, or need help, we have a chance to make a change through prayer and spiritual warfare. We have authority to intercede and bring about change. But I have left out one very important ingredient, and that’s EXPECTATION. Whether you are healing the sick, casting out demons, or interceding, you need to expect positive results.
When the first passover took place, Moses told the people to kill the lamb and put the blood on the door posts, eat certain things, don’t go outside, but to have your bags packed sandals on your feet and a staff in your hand, and that you come with Expectation that you will be leaving in the morning. Regardless what you are doing, Expect results.
I love the JGL ministries run by Curry Blake. I turned on my computer and went into his site and chose one of his teaching videos. Now I could believe for your healing, but my own, I had a hard time with. For many years I tried to get a healing for a liver problem, with no results… But that day I was determined I would get my healing. And though his video was made months before, faith is right Now. After the teaching he prayed a brief prayer and commanded healings to take place. And I received it that day. I went to the doctors and they did another blood test and I was Normal. I got my healing because I went with expectation.
When I started my healing ministry years back, I asked God for two scriptures to base healings on. He gave me Psalm 107: 20. “He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions”. I love this verse. It is a clear prophetic verse about Jesus the Word made flesh. And also Isaiah 55:11, ” So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth: It shall not return to void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” I based every healing and every deliverance on this verse. This verse puts every thing on Him. I pray, lay on hands, and God assures me that it is finished, because it will Not return void, but will prosper.
God is so good. As we approach the Trumpet Judgments, we as His people need to occupy until His return. And that means stepping out into His great commission. To heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons, and preform signs and wonders. So if you are feeling rather inadequate, you are not alone. I have written this for you. It is not too late. I am 73 and still being call to duty. So my friend, there is hope for you all. God is patient, but I am sure we all want to hear the words, “Well done good and faithful servant”.
