When Joni Mitchell wrote this song, she presented it as a spiritual journey. The event of Woodstock took place in 1969, and her song was written during the Vietnam War, which was a deeply political time—just as the Cuban Missile Crisis was during the 1960s when JFK was president.

In her song, she speaks of bombers flying overhead, bombs dropping and turning into butterflies. Some believe that when a person gains fame, they must sign their soul over to the devil in their own blood, and their name is entered into the “book of the dead” in hell. It is said that Satan keeps track of those who belong to him, and that Joni Mitchell was one of many.

Joni Mitchell did not attend the Woodstock festival in person; she watched it on TV. However, she had been asked to perform but chose instead to appear on a television show to further her career.

Some interpretations claim that “butterflies” is a coded term within Satan’s kingdom referring to ritual abuse for mind control, tracing back to alleged Nazi experiments in concentration camps conducted by a doctor referred to as “Dr. Green,” who performed various experiments on twins.

Based on this perspective, some believe that Joni Mitchell, through her song “Woodstock,” was communicating a coded message suggesting that nuclear weapons would be used in America, that enemy planes would enter U.S. airspace, and that the government may use nuclear weapons in the Middle East.

This message is said to have been confirmed by Vicky Goforth Parnell through a vision.

An X-ray light box is used to display X-ray films so they can be read. This symbolizes that what is hidden will be revealed.

The image suggests many American deaths. A mirror reflects both the image and what surrounds it. The key elements—the X-ray light box and the mirror—both involve light. This suggests that God is revealing, through His prophets, what is in the heart of the government.

History repeats itself. That is why it is called “His story.”
