Refuge and Hiding Place

Oct 9th 2019

About three or four nights ago the light and the living room flickered. I just happened to look at the time, it was 9:11. The next night it flickered again, and again it was 9:11. That was the second night in a row and I even said to my wife, “it must be a thing, that’s 2 nights in a row at 9:11”. Even knowing it was probably a thing, it didn’t make time to press in and ask God about it. So last night, the same thing happened. Now it was the 3 nights in a row at exactly 9:11.

This time my wife knew about it and she looked at me, as any good wife would do, with an expression of … “well did you ask God about it or not?”. I had not made the time so feeling a bit convicted I got off the couch and went in my office and sat down with God. I have never gotten a word this harsh from the lord before.

This is what I received.

Part 1, Visitation:

We are in a season of visitation. God is visiting the people, nation and the world. He is gathering evidence, and checking the hearts of mankind.

Luke 19:41-44

41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42 and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. 44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”[1]

Visitation can be a wonderful thing for believers, those who know Christ. It can be a season of revelation, impartation and understanding. But even for believers this season can be challenging, as he reveals sin and places in our life that are separated from Christ.

For the unsaved and the lost this season can be brutal as God presses into our lives, desiring nothing more than for us to turn him. To the unsaved pain, suffering and testing have no redeeming qualities.

Part 2, Imperfection and disorder:

You are working under man’s own strength, apart from God, all of our works will come to destruction and judgment.

Part 3, Message to the flock

911 is a sign of a covenant of a set time to gather, for disorder is upon you.

Numbers 14:39-45

39 When Moses told these words to all the people of Israel, the people mourned greatly. 40 And they rose early in the morning and went up to the heights of the hill country, saying, “Here we are. We will go up to the place that the Lord has promised, for we have sinned.” 41 But Moses said, “Why now are you transgressing the command of the Lord, when that will not succeed? 42 Do not go up, for the Lord is not among you, lest you be struck down before your enemies. 43 For there the Amalekites and the Canaanites are facing you, and you shall fall by the sword. Because you have turned back from following the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.” 44 But they presumed to go up to the heights of the hill country, although neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed out of the camp. 45 Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down and defeated them and pursued them, even to Hormah.
