Sept.28/2022: I hear the Holy Spirit saying, ‘2023 – the year of the famine’. As I was lead to read through Neh.5 for the third time this past week, this is what was highlighted to me:
Men with large families will have trouble feeding their children. Others will re-finance or re-mortgage their properties to survive. Others will borrow money to make-do. In the latter case, ‘brothers’ will take advantage of them and think that it will be only fair to charge a little interest given they will enable their survival. The Lord is warning us in advance that He is against usury, that is collecting interest. If people disobey this by deliberately charging usury, they will lose their own possession as punishment. Now, in the times of Nehemiah, the people of Israel had just headed out of the Babylonian captivity. Although we find them often rebellious and disobedient, in this instance they listened to Nehemiah and returned properties to their brothers.
If you want to know how to lead a righteous life, then read your Bible. If you want to understand Father’s ways, then read His Word.
Oct.1/2022: again, I heard the Holy Spirit within me bring up again, ‘2023 -the year of the famine’. My heart was distressed seeing the approaching ‘tsunami’ and feeling powerless to help. I saw myself in a very brief vision where Father’s arm was raising up and I was dangling off His sleeve, holding on to Him but unable to stop Him. And yet, at the same time, I find myself thanking Father for His judgments because I know that through them many will wake up from their slumber and many souls will be added into His kingdom for eternity. 2023 is going to be the year of famine. Read the book of Lamentations to familiarize yourself with certain scenarios you might see playing in front of your eyes.
Lam.1:11 All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for meat to relieve the soul: see, O Lord, and consider; for I am become vile.
Lam.2:11-12 Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city. 12 They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers’ bosom.
Lam.2:19-20 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street. 20 Behold, O Lord, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?
Lam.3:38-40 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good? 39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? 40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord.
Lam.4:3-5, 10 Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness. 4 The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them. 5 They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills. 10 The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Lam.5:9 We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
Alongside the physical famine, there will be a spiritual famine. Take heed now and store God’s Word into your heart. Memorize Scriptures.
Amos 8:11-12 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.
As I was praying again over this Word, the Lord confirmed it here.
Gen.26:1 And there was a famine in the land….
The Lord said these next verses are for the righteous:
Gen.26:2-3 And the Lord appeared unto him (Isaac), and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: 3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father.
The Lord is saying that His righteous ones, those who live by faith, by every word that proceeds from Father’s mouth, will not have to stress over the famine, for He will provide. We are to remain where He tells us and watch how He will supply all our needs. We will not need to run to and fro, going elsewhere to look for provisions. Father will be our ever-present help in our time of need. Praise God!!
Confirmation received in
Deut.32:10, 12-14 He found him (Jacob) in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. 12 So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. 13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock; 14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.
Verses 16 and 17 of same chapter tell us that because people had angered the Lord, made Him jealous with foreign gods and sacrificed to demons, that He rejected them. He said in verses 23-25 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. 24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust. 25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.
Verses 28-29 FOR THEY ARE A NATION VOID OF COUNSEL, NEITHER IS THERE ANY UNDERSTANDING IN THEM. 29 O THAT THEY WERE WISE, THAT THEY UNDERSTOOD THIS, THAT THEY WOULD CONSIDER THEIR LATTER END!
Verse 41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
I conclude with verses 45 to 47:
and Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel: 46 And he said unto them, SET YOUR HEARTS UNTO ALL THE WORDS WHICH I TESTIFY AMONG YOU THIS DAY, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. 47 FOR IT IS NOT A VAIN THING FOR YOU; BECAUSE IT IS YOUR LIFE: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
