Girls can be subjected to stigma or miss school due to difficulty managing their menstrual hygiene, Most Girls feel embarrassed to be a girl and felt like it was is a punishment, three in ten girls in East Africa misses school at some point during their period, Improving sexual and reproductive health can yield a significant return by investment, including girls’ participation in education , in Africa sexuality is very much a hidden thing, but not talking about sex perpetuates stigma and discrimination

Good menstrual hygiene management, plays a fundamental role in enabling girls, and other menstruators to reach their full potential. The negative impacts of a lack of good menstrual health and hygiene cut across sectors, Menstrual Health and Hygiene is essential to the well-being and empowerment of adolescent girls. an estimated 500 million lack access to menstrual products and adequate facilities for menstrual hygiene management To effectively manage their menstruation, girls require access to water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, affordable and appropriate menstrual hygiene materials, information on good practices, and a supportive environment where they can manage menstruation without embarrassment or stigma.

The adolescent girls are using a clean menstrual management material to absorb or collect menstrual blood, that can be changed in privacy as often as necessary, using soap and water for washing the body as required, and having access to safe and convenient facilities to dispose of used menstrual management materials.
