YOU STAND UPON A PRECIPICE
December 26, 18
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:11 And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?12 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. Joel 2
“The mountains will quake and the seas will rise before that great and terrible day of the Lord.
And yet will the people still ignore my warnings? You stand upon a precipice oh land that once was called the land of the free and the home of the brave.
What will you be remembered for when I return on that day? Will you be remembered for taking care of the poor, or will your wealth be the central theme of your existence? You may wonder what the new year will bring, and many of your prophets will send out their messages declaring what is soon to happen. But I tell you that you are on a downward spiral towards the end of your history.
For indeed, the Roman Empire came to an end. For their search for world dominion finally brought an end to their corruption. You have been found wanting. For you fight from within. Your factions have splintered into many ways; and now your leader sulks in a corner. I tell you that the high and mighty one will be brought down on that day. And what will the people be thinking on that day?
But I still have a remnant, says the Lord, and that remnant will perform mighty deeds in these days.”
