Who Are You and What Have You Become?

Each of us have choices to make along our journey; our journey rests in the choices we have made along the way. Our choices become part of us and become our history and mold our future. We were given free will so we could exercise this gift. Like all gifts, some when used incorrectly, become our downfall. Too much of anything can be a hinderance to our advancement. We are given opportunities to find out, deep down, if we care for others or mainly ourselves. We are given chances to change along the way. We are given time to retrospectively figure out what we should have done rather than what we did (time outs for a kid, jail as we get older). These opportunities to change are gifts given to us by the almighty. Without change we stagnate like a broken car.

Repentance means a change of heart and direction. When we repent, we are sorry for what we have done, but without the change of direction it is meaningless.

Growth of character, of love, of kindness to others is a barometer of how much we change. Let your barometer show growth in who you have become. Don’t just slide into home base and think this will be enough to carry you to Salvation. Salvation is earned by who you have become on your sojourn on Earth. Always try to do your best in every situation for it is recorded and tallied along the way.
