Which God is Your God?

My son, tell my church that much of what they believe is my true presence is simply an instance of one moment of emotional comfort.  They have created a god according to their personal likes and dislikes and call it Jesus.  They believe they can pick and choose a verse here, a snippet of a sermon there, cobble it together and call it God.

Does anyone truly believe that I would honor such behavior?  Does anyone sincerely believe that I would go along with such an act of idolatry?  That somehow I am obligated to have a relationship with someone who dares to fashion an idol in their heart and call that idol Yehovah?

You who are older, who once knew me well, allowed the pressures of this present evil age to dilute the knowledge of the one holy, living God of the bible.  You then neglected to teach your children my ways, and now Babylon instructs them.  Therefore, those few that still bother to think upon me, seek me in songs and dance.  They think their music, devoid of any spiritual substance, brings them closer to me.  While their flesh believes they have encountered the divine, their misled hearts make no authentic connection with me.  You cannot know me, unless you know the truth.  No truth, no relationship.

Who has heard of the judgment of the Lord?  Where today does one hear even a single sermon on the depravity of man?  Do not most preach messages that center on self?  Have not almost all my shepherds become blind fools, telling their flock that they are loved, that they are precious, that their God would never wish to harm them?  And all the while they know me not.  And all the while the cross is regarded as a strange thing.

My church, the great delusion is upon you.  Many today believe they know me, but I tell you that I do not know them.  Filled with self, loving all manner of lying doctrines, these children of darkness live with no boundaries.  They make up their own sets of commandments, while rejecting mine.

Anything that would cause them to face rejection is discarded.  Any commandment that would bring persecution is abandoned.  No conviction has ever graced their hearts, because no vital truth ever passes their ears.

Because truth is not spoken, does this mean that I hold none to account?  Because my shepherds have rejected me, does that let everyone off the hook?  I tell you no, but unless each of you who have been listening to the idolaters repent, you shall all perish.

All of you have my word.  All of you have heard of the cross.  You, who love those words in red, why do you not heed those words?  You, who love John 3:16, why do you not embrace Luke 9:23?

My people, I come to warn you once again of the peril that you are now in.  Do not imagine that some golden era is now upon you, simply as the result of one election.  No, I urge you to look all around you.  Look closely at the true state of people’s souls.  Do not be fooled by the lip service many pay to me.  Scratch the surface but a little, and you will find that very few are truly walking down that narrow path.  Few have found that road that leads to life.  Fewer still are walking it daily.

When shall the multitudes realize that their idols cannot save them?  Why do they all encourage one another in their tenacious clinging to their fanciful idolatrous image of me in their hearts?  So few embrace my judgments that I have pronounced on their wicked ways.  So few are willing to be chastened for their sinful lifestyles.  So many want my heaven, without dying to their own evil imaginations.  So few shall see paradise.

My church, I say these things to you to jar you out of your stupor.  Would you not rather know the truth about yourselves and about your loved ones, rather than continue in your fantasies and your delusions?

I am the Lord your God.  Thou shalt not make any image of me.  This command is about far more than building statues.  The heart of this command is warning against choosing to believe that I am what your wicked heart wishes me to be, rather than who my word says that I really am.  I am that I am.  I am what all of my word says that I am.  How dare anyone subtract from what I have revealed?  What madness causes any one man to think that he knows more than holy writ?

My children,  I say these things to you so that you will not be deceived.  Do I not always shepherd my true flock?  Have I not always led you to the still waters, to the rich pastures?

Do not feed on the lies of those who say they belong to me, but do not.  Listen not to the things highly esteemed by men, but rejected by me.  Look not to your congregations for answers, as most continue to depart further and further away from the truth that would have set them free.

Oh, how it grieves me to see my children compromise in response to the pressures of the day!  How I long for my young ones to lay down their idols, to turn off their virtual world, and once more seek me with all their hearts, as they once sought me long ago, when they first encountered me.  Why do you drift towards the vanities of this evil age?  Have you grown tired of me?  Does seeking after me bore you?  Does your God not provide you with enough excitement in your life?

You live your life according to what you value most.  You value social media more than you value the cross.  You value the opinions of others more than keeping my commandments.  You value your own created image of me more than the image revealed to you in the word.  You value being in control of your future more than the demands of the crucified life.  You often act as if your wisdom exceeds the wisdom of your creator.

I say these things not to condemn you and leave you with no hope, but rather to put you in remembrance.  To jolt you out of every trap that the enemy has set for you.  To free you from every snare of the evil one.  From time to time, all need to be reminded of such things.

Rather than despair, take heart.  Remember to encourage and exhort one another while there is yet time.  Each of you have been allotted a certain time, and a certain task.  Strive to discover your true purpose, and embrace it with all your heart, regardless of where it leads.  Only in this way shall you overcome the fear that is about to strike.  Only then shall you be able to keep your wits about you, and make the choices that shall guarantee you an eternal abode with the Father.
