Where is the Power

To the church, I now ask you to consider these questions.
Does it really matter what man preaches? Is the main issue what you have been taught? How does any of that factor into in any way as to what is really true?
So many reason within themselves, comparing what they hear with what they have been taught. With what their church teaches. And so many stop right there. In the ditch, they remain in the ditch. In darkness, and there they abide.
Why is the church so powerless? Why is there so little reality of the power and presence of God in your land? Do you believe that the fault lies with heaven? Or that the timing of God is not yet, that I only unleash my saving power at certain times and places?
Is not the fault found on earth, rather than in heaven? Instead of trying to strain gnats from the tiniest nuances of difference between one church and another, why do you not look to the foundations? Most foundations that have been built are not of me. They are contrary to my teachings and my sayings.
You claim that the most vital truth a lost man must grasp is that they cannot earn their way into heaven. That they must grasp the concept of grace, and grace alone. You preach and you plead, and eventually they agree to say your prayer, and now you assure them that they are safe. That they have come home, and nothing can ever separate them from an eternity of bliss. That is how you were taught, and that is how you teach others. And therein lies the real problem.
Did you notice in the so called sermon on the mount, that I never gave an altar call? I never asked the multitude to repeat a sinner’s prayer? That I never made it easy to truly follow me, but rather tried to make it abundantly clear that I was not interested in half hearted disciples?
When a man finally comes to realize that he is lost and without hope, he is now ready to hear the truth. And the truth is that I did not come down to earth to die on that cross simply to provide a free ticket to heaven. No, I died on that cross to give each and every one of you a chance. A chance to follow me. To follow me wholeheartedly. To become a true disciple. A chance to choose to get on that narrow path that leads to life. A life that is wholly given to me, so that my grace can do its work.
And on that path, there is peace. Not only peace, but hope and joy and a real faith. There is an assurance, not only now, but for all of eternity. Once on that path, and while you remain on it, no man, devil, or circumstance can snatch you away. Stay on that path, and you most certainly will find security. Remain on that path, and nothing shall truly harm you.
But choose to stray from that path, and things begin to change. Take a wrong turn, or follow a strange voice, and the promises begin to falter. Not because there is anything deficient in the promise, but that you have begun to drift away from your obligations. Peace turns into stress, hope into fear, assurance into doubt.
When you choose to stop following me, then exactly where are you headed? Who, or what, are you really pursuing? Do you really believe that if you choose to go your own way, that your ticket to heaven cannot be rescinded, just because your church’s theology says that this is so?
But what does my word say? Is it not those who endure to the end that are saved? What does the parable of the sower teach? Were there not two groups that received my word, and began to walk the narrow road, but chose not to finish? Do you believe that my judgments and my justice will ignore their choices? Would I be just to show partiality, allowing those who once knew me, but subsequently chose to turn back, to escape righteous judgment?
You have no revival because you refuse to preach the truth. You have little truth because you have little scripture in your sermons. Rather, you have the rationalizations and false reasonings of men who create doctrines that minister to the selfishness and divided, lukewarm hearts of their hearers.
If you want to see the power of salvation restored, then you must be willing to reject and flee from these other gospels that are masquerading as my word. Mankind is lost in darkness and deceit. Only an unconditional surrender of the soul in obeying all that my Father and I teach shall grant you the opportunity to escape the certain wrath to come.
Most simply cannot advance beyond the implied uncertainty of this message. The fearful ministers, in order to free themselves of this truth, create philosophies out of thin air, such as ‘once saved, always saved. If they see a believer that has truly fallen away, they comfort themselves by stating that they were never saved in the first place. Thus your churches continue to be populated with these half hearted individuals. And that is why there is no power in the pews.
This plain truth is not meant to terrify. There is no terror for those who are a whole hearted child of God. If you truly abide in me, if you are truly doing all that you know to do, if you are following me, then all the assurances you ever need are yours. My faithful ones, you need never fear again.
But for those who know in their heart that their commitment is incomplete, I say these things to warn you. I do not wish that any should perish, but that all should come to know me.
But you cannot truly know me unless you embrace everything that I have said. You cannot pick and choose. You cannot take some sayings of the Son, and some sayings of men. I must be everything, or I will be truly nothing in your life. Do not be like one of those who at the end will hear that I never knew them. Do not be afraid to take me at my word. Many will not choose to go along with you. Many will attempt to dissuade you. Stay on the traditional path, they will say. Don’t go down that path that so few have undertaken.
If your heart is tugging at you, do not delay. Embrace the true gospel. Look to my word, and to my word alone. There you will find all the assurances that you will ever need, now, and forevermore, should you choose to truly follow me.
