Are you eating from the BITTER ROOT of BITTERNESS??   Many believers in CHRIST are actually DINING AT THE ENEMY’S TABLE, and don’t even know it! Their resentments, grumbling, complaining, and negativity has opened the door to the FRUIT OF BITTERNESS to their soul!

Be careful, and examine your life to see if you have let the enemy in with these OPEN DOORS!!  Satan will often bring circumstances into our lives that lead us into a place of discouragement, discontentment, frustration, that then leads to resentment, or even anger.  And if we listen to satan’s lies, we will then, sometimes, BLAME GOD for the trials and tribulations that we go through. Once this happens, we, unknowingly, have planted the seeds that bring about the ROOT OF BITTERNESS deep inside our soul.

BITTERNESS BRINGS BITTER FRUIT INTO YOUR LIFE!

It is so subtle, that we may not see it or discern it. But once the ROOT is planted, it then starts growing into a CHOKING VINE that can affect many areas of our lives….including our HEALTH!

This can include even mumuring….or grumbling…..which is the OPPOSITE having a THANKFUL heart! During the days of Moses, in the wilderness, the Israelites were actually punished for their GRUMBLING, and lack of thanksgiving:

“In this wilderness your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has GRUMBLED against me.” Numbers 14:29

ThisNEGATIVE CONDITION OF THE SOUL can lead to bitterness in the heart, which is not only POISONOUS….but a very dangerous spiritual condition to be in:

Notice the word ‘POISONOUS’  in the above verse….. this BITTERNESS DEFILES YOU BY BRINGING POISON into your BODY! This can manifest in many different ways, but in my own personal experience, this POISON can bring SICKNESS!!

To take it even one STEP FURTHER….it is like being BITTEN BY A POISONOUS SNAKE!

MY PERSONAL STORY!

Years ago, I had an illness that even the doctors could not really help me with. The tests didn’t show anything, and the medicines did nothing. After months, and months of trying everything possible to get better…. I even had a group of prophetic people lay their hands on me, as well as pray for my healing…. but to NO avail!!

No matter how much I prayed, fasted, cried out to the LORD….nothing seemed to work. I then knew that I was missing something……but I didn’t know what! I started seeking the HOLY SPIRIT to whisper to me what was wrong….and why I wasn’t getting any better!

Then, one day…..the word ‘BITTERNESS’ came to me loud and clear! It was unmistakenly the voice the HOLY SPIRIT answering my prayers to what was REALLY going on with me. I then heard that I had ‘EATEN THE ROOT OF BITTERNESS,’ and then had fallen sick!

 I was SHOCKED, because, at the time, I didn’t understand the spiritual ramifications of how negative emotions can open a ‘legal door’ for the enemy to come and affect one’s health! It truly was a NEW REVELATION for me!

It was then that I examined my life, and realized how really bitter, and resentful I had become……all because of a tragedy in my life that happened years earlier! Upon examination, I realized that not only had resentment crept in…..but I had spent years secretly feeling very sorry for myself! I was wallowing in SELF-PITY, instead of walking in the ways of the SPIRIT.

I quickly started down the road to renounce the bitterness, by REPENTING, and started asking the HOLY SPIRIT to help me in being THANKFUL in all things….no matter my circumstances!!

Once I did that, I noticed that I started getting better, and better every day! As a matter of fact, the doctors couldn’t do what the HOLY SPIRIT did…..finding the ROOT CAUSE to my illness! Within a month, after 2 years of constant pain, my health returned to normal……and I was PAIN FREE! I had learned a very valuable spiritual lesson!

A PATTERN THAT CAN LEAD TO SICKNESS:

Here is a pattern that the enemy often uses in to trip us up:

1. FIRST, he brings an onslaught of trials, much like the waves in the sea…..one right after the other. Or he brings one HUGE TRIAL, or incident, that completely throws us off guard.

2. During this time, TRAUMA can settle into our souls.

3. Then we start GRUMBLING & COMPLAINING in our hearts. Then it starts overflowing verbally.

4.  This causes DOUBT…..like ‘Does GOD still love me? Or ‘Does HE even hear my prayers?’

5. This ‘DOUBT,’ then leads to a LOSS of FAITH in the LORD

6. Then, the SPIRIT of BITTERNESS and RESENTMENT has found an ‘OPEN DOOR,’ and the seed is planted….so subtly, that we don’t even see it.

7.  Now that the seed has been planted, the ROOT starts growing, and starts to affect our lives, and MANIFEST in ways we don’t even see or understand. .

8. Now the spirit of INFIRMITY can come, and get a foothold into your life.

REMEDY TO BE SET FREE:

ASK the HOLY SPIRIT to bring DISCERNMENT, AND REVELATION about our spiritual condition. Once we understand the principle that any STRONG NEGATIVE EMOTIONS, can be an OPEN DOOR to the enemy…..we can then address it though a ‘COURSE CORRECTION’ of REPENTANCE, RENOUCING, and TURNING AWAY from bitterness, resentment, anger, grumbling, and complaining.

 This means that there must be a HUMBLING of oneself before the FATHER, and the LORD JESUS. SEEK the POWER OF THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS to come and HEAL our emotional health, and trauma that has entered our souls. This can be followed with PRAISE, WORSHIP, THANKSGIVING, FASTING, and by applying, and the incorporating the WORD OF GOD into our lives.

As we continue in this JOURNEY with the LORD, in these LAST DAYS, it is imperative that we are HEALTHY so that we can do the WORK of the LORD, with the GIFTS that HE has given us! The enemy comes to try to steal our health so that we become ineffective in being the LIGHT OF CHRIST to others, in this dark and fallen world!

We are called to be OVERCOMERS from the wiles of the devil!! Instead of becoming weaker, and weaker spiritually, and/or physically…..we can reverse the narrative, through the POWER OF GOD, and become VICTORIOUSin CHRIST….no matter our circumstances!!!
