16 Thus says the Lord:“Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it;Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ 17 Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen.’ 18 Therefore hear, you nations,And know, O congregation, what is among them. 19 Hear, O earth! Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people—The fruit of their thoughts, Because they have not heeded My words Nor My law, but rejected it. 20 For what purpose to Me Comes frankincense from Sheba, And sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, Nor your sacrifices sweet to Me.” Jeremiah 6
“What has become of your land, says the Lord? What has become of what was once the land of the free and the home of the brave? What has become of a place where children could roam free without the worry of being killed? What has become of those who would come to your land seeking refuge from murder and mayhem?
You say that you are a land that is great and it has the ability to offer many opportunities to those who would come to your shores. You say that you are the greatest nation on earth. Well then…what is it that makes you great? What is it that makes you stand out from all the other nations?
You were birthed as a nation that came across the shores from England. You forged your way through many wars. You found a way amid the many factions that might pull you apart. And yet now many years from your birth, your land is riddled with more divisions than it has ever had before.
You fly your flag of the United States and yet you are not united at all! I tell you that you will fall; and your fall from grace will be great. If you would have bowed your knees to my Son, and found a way to rise above those things that have caused you such great division now, then I would have rescued you.
But you have chosen your own destiny now. You have taken a path towards your own destruction. You quote your scriptures and you sing your songs, but your behavior has not changed. ”
