The Open Door – Rachel Adamus

The Open Door – Rachel Adamus

Revelation 3:7-13: “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens.
“‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that I have loved you. Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown. The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
Like a bird in the nest is my love for you, Oh my children. How I care for you, comfort you, warm you, feed you, supply your every need. How have you repaid my love? Have you abandoned the nest? Behold, my Bride, my precious treasure, my holy ones in whom is found no spot–you who are covered in the white garments of Yehushua and cleansed by the blood of His sacrifice–I have loved you with an everlasting love. I delight in you, because you have not sought to fly from my protective wings. You have not abandoned my love. You have brooded under my wings and held fast to me. Lord, why do you say we have brooded? Is it not you who brood? Yes, my daughter, I have brooded as a male bird upon his eggs, to hatch you into the children I would have you to be, but you also have brooded while still being guarded by my wings, for have I not called you also to bear much fruit? You have brooded the eggs I have given you to hatch, and though for nearly all of you, those eggs seem to have died beneath you, they will indeed hatch–and suddenly! Yet while you brood the fruit I have called of you, you have cherished my tender, loving care. You know that without me, you can do nothing. Every day, you draw closer to me; you long for me, you yearn for me, you cry for me–even as a young bird cries for her mother when she has left the nest, longing for her embrace, longing for the morsel of food to satisfy her hunger. I am your bread of life; you have drunken deeply of me and have grown more hungry and thirsty for me. Look, my Bride, do you not see it with the eyes of faith I have given you? Do you not see the open door before you that no man can shut? Truly, many who have called themselves by my name and have not acknowledged my ways or sought my face in humility have tried to shut that door. They say that it is not the right way in which to walk, but Oh my Bride, you know it, because through it is the path of life! You have drunk deeply of me and have not been disappointed. You will continue to receive more and more of my light inasmuch as the world and the remnant who have shut their hearts to my truth continue to be shrouded in greater and greater darkness. Your light will indeed shine! Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened, but in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord (1 Peter 3:14, Isaiah 8:12). Lord, what is it that they fear? They fear losing the comforts of their self-approved status and the foundations of truth that they themselves have built. They fear the disapproving eye of man and the chastisement of loneliness. They fear disappointment and a lack of control. But, my daughter, my Bride, you do not fear these things because in me is all your power, your strength, your truth, your hope, your foundation. Though I take you out upon raging waves, you do not fear, because I am standing there on the waters with you, keeping you, protecting you, guarding you. Though you feel as though all around you is out of control, you do not fear, because you KNOW ME. You know me to be true, faithful, and sure: the Rock of your salvation–not your intellect, not your doctrines, not your ideas that cannot possibly hold the infinity of my greatness. Those who have not truly tasted of me have held intently to these things, but they will be swept away. My daughter, my Bride, hold fast to me! The breakers grow higher and higher around you, but I am your solid lighthouse, your sure foundation!
