THE LAMP

I came to a bridge. I had my Lamp in my hand but put it down to cross over the embuttment of the bridge. When I did the bridge retracted like a ramp to the other side. I tried to jump on the “ramp” and I couldn’t make it. So I tried inching across on the guard rail. Then I came to my senses. I backed up on the rail and had someone pull me off the rail back up to the road that went to the bridge.
I realized how futile it was for the “ramp” of the bridge by now was at the other side with my Lamp on it.
Psalm 119:105-106 KJV
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. [106] I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.
Proverbs 6:23 KJV
For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
I lost my Lamp. I lost my light of The Word Of God, the reproof and instruction of The Word Of God, which is His Law of Obedience when I put my lamp down. Rather than hold the Lamp and walk onto the bridge, I put the Lamp down.
I tried to do rather than be (live) the light. So my Lamp was taken from me. We lose our lamps –

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. [2] And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. [3] They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: [4] But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. [5] While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. [6] And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. [7] Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. [8] And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. [9] But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. [10] And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. The wise had oil in their lamps, the foolish no oil. Oil is the Holy Spirit. The power of God if we do not have His Power we will be trying in the dark and will not make it. The Word is the Lamp, the Holy Spirit is the Light Of God. We cannot be lax and put it down , leaning on the arm of the flesh to Do For God rather than Be For God by His Power Within Us.
We must sharpen our sword of The Word to enter into the wedding banquet of God.
