The Crucified Life

My son, why are you here? Why have I created you? Do you think your primary purpose is to fix Babylon? To repair Egypt? To fight Assyria? Are you so insecure in your relationship with me that the only assurance you can find is in your good works? Do you feel that unless you are doing some great thing, according to how man defines greatness, that you are not in right relationship with me?
But what have I told you? What does my word say? Have I not created you for my pleasure? Is not your purpose to be transformed into my image? Is not your primary task seeking me, seeking a heart transformation, that desires me, and me alone?
And how do you achieve this? How shall this come to pass? Is it in doing some great work? Is it in your busyness? Or have you forgotten the first principles? Is it not your prayer life? Is it not seeking me, and me alone? How many of you spend hour upon hour in pursuing the toils and tasks of this world, yet cannot spare one hour in communion with me? How do you think you shall be transformed? By doing more and more dead works?
Do I need to remind you once again why prayer is the hardest discipline for my people to master? Not the prayer of continual petition. But the prayer of transformation. Of seeking me to reveal to you the things in your heart that are not of me. Of waiting upon my grace to purge and cleanse you, rather than solely seeking my power to do mighty deeds.
Are good deeds not necessary? Of course not. Yet good deeds done out of guilt or insecurity are simply more wood, hay, and stubble, destined to perish in the judgment.
Some of you are so obsessed with the evil that is multiplying all around you. You obsess over each and every thing night and day. You prioritize staying informed, but that means you do not prioritize alone time with me. Thus your hearts are troubled. You have no peace. Slowly but surely, the cares of this world begin to overwhelm you. Your eyes are taken off of me, and peace is nowhere to be found.
True peace only comes at the foot of the cross. Are you neglecting the crucified life? Did I not say in my word that my people need to die daily? There is no victory, there is no peace, apart from the cross. You may play a part in exposing many dark deeds to others, but do they see the life of your master transforming you from glory to glory? Do they see the crucified and risen Lord in your life? Or do they see someone consumed and being overcome by all the wickedness of Babylon?
In these last days leading up to the end of all things, pay no heed to the false prophets who say restoration is around the corner. That great revivals are about to break out everywhere. Many are so tired of the death of everything good, that they will choose to believe any lie if it promises them relief.
Be not like them. Be a wise virgin, who kept her lamp full of oil. That oil is not for escaping from reality, but to give you light and warmth in the midst of ever increasing darkness. But without peace, how shall you live? Without the peace of Christ, how shall you stand?
Peace shall not be found apart from the cross. You shall not endure if you do not pursue the crucified life. All your hopes, all your dreams, all your assumptions and presumptions, all must be nailed to that tree. Only in dying can you truly live. Only by letting go of all your hopes and desires in this life will you find the freedom and the liberty to carry on.
Babylon is here to take your freedom. I tell you to be not troubled over this. Yet the only way you shall succeed is to die to all things that you desire in this life. Die, so that I may live in you.
Can you accept this challenge? Do you have the courage to nail your expectations and your wishes to the cross? Or is this too great a price to pay? Know that if you fail to do so, everything that you so desperately desire to cling to will become lost anyway.
Why not freely give them to me, while you still can? Why have them violently taken away by the enemies of the cross? Is it not better to freely give me your life, and all things therein, than for the enemy to forcibly snatch it away? Remember that a dead man cannot be harmed. If you have truly died to the things of this world, then, and only then, are you free to do these great things that you seek.
I cannot use the half hearted, especially not at this time. The pressures will be too great to overcome for those who are not willing to go all the way. You must prepare your hearts to be disappointed, as events in this world continue to unfold. You have a desire, an imagination, of how you want things to be. Those desires must be crucified and put to death.
While I reveal secrets to my prophets, yet there are also secret things that belong to your Lord God only. I will choose what to reveal and what to keep hidden. My people need to quit picking and choosing a single verse here and there in order to justify those ideas that they refuse to crucify and put to death. Only in the counsel of the entire word of God shall true wisdom be found. Those preachers who insist on anchoring their entire faith on one or two verses shall be quickly taken out of the way.
Now is the time to become whole hearted. Now is the time of personal crucifixion. Who among you has the courage to take up the challenge of doing whatever it takes to come away with me, and wait upon your Lord, laying all things upon the altar, until the fire of the Lord falls and consumes you as a living sacrifice? Who will stop despising the power of prayer? Who will take on the mantle of the unknown soldier, content to toil and labor in the vineyard from the anonymity of their own prayer closet, apart and away from the recognition and praises of men?
Is not everything in the world destined to perish? Is there anything of Babylon and Egypt that shall survive the cleansing fire? Do you wish to continue as a part of the Laodicean generation, or shall you truly open the door of your heart and escape that wicked place? Are you willing and able to accept my command if I order you to join the Smyrnan church, the church of the martyrs? Not everyone shall be placed in the Philadelphian church, where escape from suffering is promised. That choice is not yours to make. Indeed, some that will be placed in Philadelphia will simply have their time cut short, as a mercy to them, as they would not have survived otherwise. Yet many will not leave Laodicea, for fear of where I shall place them. They choose to preserve their life today, but all they have done is thrown that same life away at the end.
My children, you shall not lose your worldly fear in your own strength. Only when you have chosen to spend the time needed in my presence can the true fear of the Lord destroy all of the fear of the world. The enemy is about to unleash a spirit of fear such as has rarely been seen on this planet. My chosen remnant, I tell you these things so that you may properly prepare. And that preparation involves a deeper level of crucifixion. If you still fear over what can be taken from you in this life, then you have not yet arrived at the place I desire you to be. If you do not find a way to overcome all the distractions of this life, and plunge yourself in the purifying fire of my presence, then that fear shall overcome and destroy you.
It is not my will that any of my children perish before their time. Yet this is what will happen to many if they continue in their spiritually lazy lifestyle. Each and every day I ask you afresh: Will you follow me? Will you follow me no matter where I lead? Or will you allow your fear to continue to consume your heart and your mind, preventing you from going where you need to go? What choice shall you make?
To those who heed this word, I do not promise you deliverance from all evil. But I do promise you the strength and the joy and the peace in the midst of the darkness. Are not the treasures of my kingdom much finer than the treasures of Egypt? Are not the riches of my Father of far greater worth than the baubles of Babylon?
The time has come to choose. Choose wisely, for the time is very short.
