Blessings, everybody, and welcome back to my channel. My name is Laura, and this channel is dedicated to my Lord Jesus Christ—all for His glory. I normally share visions, dreams, and messages from the Lord, but today I want to share a testimony about the power of applying His Word.

This memory comes back to me often, and I’ve felt for some time that I should share it. As I was spending time with the Lord this morning, He reminded me of it again.

This happened early in my walk with the Lord, just a few months after being saved. At the time, I had recently separated from my husband—only three days into that separation, I had a powerful encounter with the Lord in my bedroom, and He brought me back to Himself.

The incident I want to share happened a few months later on a Wednesday evening. I was getting ready to take my kids to church. Just as we were about to leave, the phone rang. It was my husband. He said some very hurtful, nasty things, and when I hung up, I felt crushed.

The joy I had before that phone call was gone, replaced by heaviness in my chest. I could barely breathe. He felt like my enemy at that momoment.

We got in the car to drive to church, which was about 40–45 minutes away. For the first 15–20 minutes of the drive, all I could pray was, “God, please take this away. God, please take this away.” Over and over, I cried out because of the heaviness and pain.

Then I heard His voice so clearly, as if He were speaking right into my ear:

“Bless those who curse you.”

I was stunned by how real and close His voice was. I immediately responded, “Okay, Lord, I will do that.” And right there in the car, I prayed:

“Lord, I bless my husband. I forgive my husband. Father, I ask that You forgive him as well for the things he said to me.”

The moment I spoke those words, something supernatural happened. I felt the Lord go into my heart, uproot all the hurt and heaviness, and pull it out. Suddenly, I could breathe again, and the joy of the Lord returned.

As I reflected on this memory, the Lord reminded me that we must not just read His Word but apply it to our lives. Too often, we read Scripture, close the Bible, and continue living in the flesh—lashing out, complaining, or harboring unforgiveness. But James 1:22, 25 says:

“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves… But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

When we apply God’s Word—when we forgive, bless, and show mercy as He commands—we experience His power and freedom. Had I not obeyed that night, the bitterness could have carried over into the next day, the next week, and beyond. Instead, I was able to worship with joy and continue growing in Him.

The Lord has been showing me areas in my own heart where I still need to apply His Word—like being quick to listen, slow to speak, and showing love when I don’t feel like it. My prayer every day is:

“Holy Spirit, quicken me in those moments. Help me hold my tongue. Remind me when I’m not showing love or kindness.”

Through the Spirit, we are empowered to lay down the flesh and walk in victory. We are called to be fruitful, bringing glory to the Father, as Jesus said in John’s Gospel.

So let’s not excuse ourselves with, “Well, God knows we fall short.” Instead, let’s actively apply His Word, die to ourselves daily, and live in the Spirit.

I pray this testimony encourages you to do just that. If you know someone who would be blessed by this message, please share it with them.

Until next time, may you have a blessed day.
