The Giant Sequoia is among the tallest trees in the world. They have been dubbed ‘God of the Woods’ - ‘King Tree’ - Monarch of the Californian Forests - Father of the Forest.

They are described as Giant - Magnificent,  Stunning, Majestic, Breathtaking, Other-Worldly… In viewing the Giant Sequoia there is a perplexity, conundrum effect. It is mind boggling to absorb its magnitude.  It is impossible to see its entirety from its base. Flabbergast - awestruck - amazed - wonder - dumbstruck - astonished… come to mind.

This is the God effect, and we are too familiar. If God were a Sequoia, the common response would be - ‘That’s a lot of toothpicks’.

We minimize, downgrade, and mock that which a purer-hearted child would exclaim, squeal, and be filled with glee. People in their sarcastic, monotone, realism cut God down, withholding praise and applause. He is the Word; that’s a clue of His love-language…

SEQUOIA

“It is I, here to collect praises, all My praises due My name. They are Mine for which are due in full, to Me your Lord. You would not withhold from Me – would you? You would not neglect Me – would you?”

“More, more? This is not a performance for Me to you. Rend your hearts, wring out your hearts for your God – a true God. I am no placebo – I am the real and only True God. Ewes hold back My applause, My gratitudes, My accolades, why? I expect praise worthy of a King.”

“Too comfortable, too comfortable, eh? Not for long. Ewes, My Bride will be running to and fro from the Beast government – Hunger games for sure – then you will be hungry for Me. I will hear your desperate cries, heartfelt heartfelt, sincere; content with Me to call upon. Then and not until then will you understand ‘only when My judgments are in the earth do men learn righteousness’. You are content now, but I am not. Then you will be discontented, while I content. I expect more, growth, development, maturity, increase. Remember who I am – I am the shrewd business owner that expects results. Don’t cut Me short, I expect profits.”  (Play on words profits and prophets –  those who cry aloud and spare not)

“Find, dig, disclose, search for the Pearl of Great Price, and you will exclaim at your treasure – selling all to attain. You have not arrived at the place that you sell all within you. Keep coming to Me on bended knees. We have far to go.”

– Your Beloved

Insights-

What’s up with that? Why do we speak backwards? Proverbs says that honoring a fool is a boomerang to the head.

  • Bad, wicked and sick are good, awesome is crazy, my nigga is my bff…

  • What is going on?

  • Males and females can mean anything and everything…

  • An expert doctor who under congressional testimony couldn’t answer, “Can men get pregnant?”

  • Feelings are rights…

  • Words no longer have meaning? It’s pure nuts.

God is worthy of all praise. Why don’t people give up the praise? Who’s your Daddy?

Why can you find exclamations for a winning team, a superb play, a viral short, or a music note that shatters glass?

You can’t exalt God, the way people ooh and ahh, looking up at one of these sequoias? People whisper His name and raise their arms in worship like their deodorant stopped working.

This is the third time that I can recall, God anticipates the heartfelt desperate cries that will be shouted during the Beast’s Hunger Games and other judgments in the earth, especially California’s earthquake. What effort are you making to truly uncover the Pearl of Great Price? Will you sell all to apprehend Him?

When was the last time you rolled out the red carpet for the Lord, really lathered on the pillow talk??? Have you sat down and told Him how wonderful a job He is doing in your life? Praise and worship are verbs, i.e. action words. 2 Tim 219a, “The Lord knows those who are His…”

If this is you, you are off-base, deficient, and defunct. Your priorities are misaligned. God is not a robot, remember? He is a real personage, and you dishonor Him by not acknowledging His magnificence, withholding your praise and rendering it to far less.

You can’t see the forest for the trees, or should I say, The Branch for the forest? Do you love the things of this world more than your God, if so, you are fearfully in danger? You are in danger of missing the Great Sequoia, like the Pharisees refused to hail ‘Hosanna in the Highest’.

As we are oaks of righteousness, He is the God of the Woods. Exalt, bow, exclaim, praise, rejoice in Our Magnificent Majesty. Don’t just stand around acting all mute, pour on the love. God wants to hear you sing…

Matthew 13:45-46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Luke 19:20-27 Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. For I feared you, because you are [b]an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.  Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’

“And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’ (But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas.’) For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me.’ ”
