Schooling at Home

August 5 2025-The Lord made clear to me months ago with a dream and through prayer time that He wants all Christian children to be schooled at home. I believe it is clear in God’s Word that He gave parents their children to raise in holiness. Where in the Bible does it say to give your children to others to raise? Where in the Bible is God okay with holy children being placed in dangerous environments and to learn ungodliness? Here are a few verses to support home schooling:

Deut 6: 5-9: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Prov 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Rom 12:2: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Col 2:8: See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

Eph 6:1-4: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

1 Cor 15:33: Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals..”

1 Cor 3:18-20: Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in the ways of this world, he must become a fool to become really wise. For the wisdom of this world is nonsense in God’s sight. For it is written, “He catches the wise with their own trickery,” and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are worthless.”

Proverbs 2:6-11: For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

I believe if we really know the Bible well, it is clear God’s people are to raise and educate their own children according to the ways of the Lord. To raise them will all knowledge in holiness. Yes, this means math and science and everything, through a biblical understanding. I believe it is also clear from the beginning with Adam and Eve that the man is to work and provide and the mother should be at home with the kids. But obviously, according to the above passages, God expects fathers to teach their children holiness as well. People can take their individual circumstances to the Lord, but this is clearly what God intended from the beginning.

In these dreams, God confirms how negative the world is becoming and how the public schools teach nothing of God and lead kids astray. They are dangerous places and the teachers don’t really care about them. In one dream, a child asked “Why did you abandon me?” This is a question many public schooled children are wanting to ask their parents, I believe. Why would you leave your child in an environment of such crime, educational neglect or perversion, immorality, etc.? There is no holiness whatsoever in the public schools. In the second dream, it seemed to highlight that fathers are usually the ones against home schooling. But also this dream indicated that prayers are working and it appears that many more are turning to homeschooling and are recognizing that it is what God wants them to do. I also want to add here that as I was thinking about this over the past months, the Lord spoke more harshly about Christian schools. It is as if it is worse than public schools in the sense that parents know they should be raising their own children, but they give them to others and put a Christian label on it and think it’s ok. But God wants parents raising their own children. Even though some Christian things may be taught there, abuse, promiscuity, bullying, and other things happen in Christian schools too. So pray about that.

I have had two new dreams on this topic. I felt initially mostly to pray about it, but now I feel to update these posts with these new dreams. On June 10 2025 I dreamed that machines were knocking down the public schools and there were ladies inside the building who refused to leave, even as the building was falling. They were likely a mix of administrators and teachers. I told them to get out, but they didn’t want to. I believe this dream indicates that indeed the public school system is failing and perhaps is in the process of being destroyed. Even non-Christians know how bad most public schools are, as many atheists home school their children because of lack of education or violence. But there are many who are so used to the public school system, they refuse to change. I believe the Lord wants us to pray for those, especially if they are parents too. They need to realize that they have other options such as tutoring, working at a homeschool cooperative, writing books, making online learning videos, etc. I had another dream, I forgot the exact date, maybe July 8 2025, I dreamed that a father put a child named Christina in school and she liked it, but the mother pulled her out. As I thought about this, I realized two things. First, it’s a common complaint against homeschooling, “But my child’s school is good and she likes it there.” This may be a rare case, but it doesn’t change God’s commands or a Christian’s responsibility to obey them. God simply expects Christians to raise and educate their own children. And if parents wish to obey God, they will tell the child that’s what God wants and begin homeschooling, even if it’s a temporary adjustment for the child and family. God will make it all right. The other thing I realized here is that it’s often the women and mothers who are obeying God today and not the men. I find this very sad. I find it also common that there are many marriages where the husband and wife are not on the same page. It sometimes leads to divorce and the kids end up in public school because of divorce proceedings. Again, the body of Christ needs to pray heavenly for fathers that will quit chasing after worldly things and let the children come home and let mothers be mothers.

I encourage all Christians to pray deeply about this issue and everything related to it. Pray for God to reveal to all individual families what His will is and why and pray that His people have the courage to obey. It’s a great spiritual battle for the kids!
