Why do preachers preach those same errors over and over again? Why do so many of my people return again and again to the same habit, even the same sin? What causes such behavior?
Fear. Fear and discomfort. Some disquiet invades your soul, and what do you do? You turn to what instantly relieves.
Preachers see death approaching. For themselves, or perhaps a loved one. So they proclaim their eternal security fantasy over and over, as if that will ward off the grim reaper!
Or perhaps there is strife in the congregation. Maybe their livelihood is threatened. So they revert to tradition. Traditions of men. Traditions of men and organizations, that pretend to act like my body. Their fear and their discomfort is transmitted to the church, through false guilt and manipulation. Such is the way of carnal man.
While my shepherds transmit their fear through false and unprofitable doctrines, what do my sheep do? Fear strikes, and they lash out. Discomfort comes, and sinful habits are turned to. Whether lust or gluttony or idolatrous behavior, so many things are turned to, all to relieve your fear.
My people’s highest priority seems to be the practice of symptom relief. You turn to the flesh and the vain distractions of the mind whenever discomfort hits. Instead of going to the root of the problem, you tend to the surface. Therefore, no real growth occurs.
Why are you so easily discomfited? Why are you so afraid? Because you allow so many voices into your souls. And when these voices speak, you refuse to do what my word says.
Run! Run from evil. Mortify, put to death, your fleshly desires. Flee! Flee temptation and race to your prayer closet. Endure. Endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Suffer. Suffer lack, and be not envious of what others have.
Your world teaches you to give in to every impulse. Give in to every sexual desire. Rebel against every lawful authority. Do not deny self. Do not go without today, even if it means sacrificing future safety. Give in, give up, give yourself over to whatever your heart desires. Are you even taught that God is there to give you the desires of your heart?
But know this. The world is approaching a time of silence. A time of silence from heaven. My word has stated over and over that those who live in sin shall not inherit the kingdom of God. I have also spoken many warnings in recent years.
But the time is coming when I shall speak no more. Do you believe that you can presume on my grace forever? That I will be eternally patient while you refuse to change? That I will keep speaking, like a nagging spouse, over and over without end?
Have you not read that there came a day when I stopped speaking to Judah? Their king and the people were warned time and again. But they refused to stop worshipping their idols. They refused to change their lifestyle. They refused to repent. So I instructed my servants the prophets to stop speaking. Let the judgments of the Lord proceed. Time ran out for my people back then. Time has almost run out for you.
Why should I speak any more? Have you heeded what has already been written? Do you take my warnings to heart? Or is all that you are concerned about is feeling better as quickly as possible? Is the elimination of discomfort all that concerns you? Why do you continually ignore what my word teaches? Have you completely forgotten that he who seeks to save his life shall lose it?
Many run to and fro, seeking a fresh word. Many still think that revival is just around the corner. Yet I say unto you, as my Spirit departed from Jerusalem during Judah’s apostasy, so my Spirit has departed from your lands. Looking for more words? You shall be disappointed. I will not keep wasting my words on those who refuse to hear.
A day of silence is coming, and is even now near the door. What shall you do, as the evil multiplies? How shall you respond, as you see darkness prevailing? Shall you fall away? Or perhaps you shall run to your wizards and your soothsayers, who disguise themselves as servants of righteousness? They will give you your temporary relief. They will continue to tell you that all is well, right up to the very day that I come to take them all away.
For those who yet weep and cry over the hardness of hearts and the wilful ignorance of the masses, fear not. I have prepared a place of refuge for you. Not a physical place, but a place in the spirit. A place where my Spirit shall provide all the safety and comfort that you will need. A place where what has already been written will come alive and sustain you in the perilous days ahead.
While the unrepentant will continue to grope as blind men in the middle of the day, my servants shall be fed. While those who refused to prepare for the bridegroom search for light, my virgins will be taken into the secret chambers. While those who are satisfied with listening to the delusions being preached from the pulpit continue to waste their days, my chosen shall be driven into the desert and to the hills, where they shall learn of me, humbly sitting at my feet.
The end of all things is at hand. That includes western civilization. Every thing has an end. No man wishes to see the downfall of their nation. But the heart of man is deceitful. It is wicked beyond measure. Again and again it is shown that man in and of himself cannot hold onto what blessings are given him. Eventually everything corrupts. Eventually all good things slip away.
But take heart. I never forsake my own. I may forsake your lands, but those who learn to cling to me shall not need to turn to the world to ease their discomforts. I am the God of all comfort. Learn to draw all your comfort from me, not from the world. Soon I shall be the only source of real comfort that may be found. But only for the ones who truly make their abode with me.
