Dream July 3 25: The Blue-Studded Cobra Attacks

Dream:

I am in a house at a doorway (with no door) that leads from what appears to be a kitchen into a hallway. As I approached the doorway, I could see that it was good white tile around maybe an island and some wooden shelving or frames on the walls. This was the kitchen area of the doorway. Perched above the doorway is a cobra, small, like maybe four feet long at most. It also has a proportionately small head of course. Around the head, especially, it has a lighter blue color and maybe some dark colors like black as well, but the bright blue is all that stands out.

The cobra leans down from above at the top of the doorway, its body draped somewhere invisibly, but its head droops down about eight inches, as if to get a really good look at me.

For whatever reason, I approached the doorway to go through. The cobra dismounted before that, and it ends up on the kitchen floor by the island; and it’s coming at me. So nearby, I find a wooden stick that is somewhat knobby enough to be used like a club. It also has an end to it that spreads out, and so it reminded me of a tool used to remove shoes. This item is not heavy and not very useful for clubbing the snake, but I use it for that anyway. As I popped the snake on the head, it was hardly dazed and would come back to try and bite me. I then felt panicked as the situation began to spin out of control, and the snake tried harder and harder to circumvent the club and other things I did.

I pulled myself towards the doorway with the snake now traded places with me, and it seemed like I was falling backward on to my rear end. But I stayed moving. I may have grabbed a second tool because I know that the snake was able to even put its mouth around the wooden club end, as if it thought that it was grabbing a piece of my body to chew on. It also tried swallowing the club end. Every second, I knew that it was only a matter of time before the snake changed position or realized that it was not biting my finger or foot and so it would try to shift its head. Every move I made, the snake was able to stay one move away from another shot at me. So I was constantly churning these things in my hands, trying to hit it in the head and stabilize it against the ground.

The dream ended with me still wrestling the cobra. Needless to say, I awoke worried about snakes being close by to relive this dream. It was a relief, then, to remind myself that they are not in my area so that this dream does not need to provoke a phobia. However, I know the interpretation:

The devil is very irritated with me. Like what he did to Job, he wants to make a move on my life. The beautiful and bright blue color appears to signify that he will try to use a heroic method (or costume) to color his attack as something good for society. Also, the doorway shows that he is guarding something that I need to pass through. The tools in the dream are not preferable. They were inadequate for the intensity of the attack, so this is a warning to prepare with more focused prayer in this area.

Thank you for your prayers,
