Anointed Melody

I dreamed that I heard the Jon Bon Jovi song Blaze of Glory.” The lyrics spoke about a man asking for mercy, saying he had lived fully and wanted to die honorably, standing firm to the end. There was also a line referring to being “the devil’s son.”

After this, I saw two men standing across from each other like in an old Western showdown. They drew their guns and shot each other in the head or neck area. One man, realizing he was dying, pulled out a license plate and wrote something on it with a permanent marker—perhaps a message for others to remember him by.

Both men were dressed in Halloween-style costumes and seemed somewhat intoxicated, even laughing about their bleeding wounds as they were dying. People passing by might have thought it was all part of a Halloween act.

As they lay there, I walked past them and got into my car, which was decorated with Halloween items—possibly by the two men—and had their blood smeared on the roof. I drove through a downtown-type neighborhood erratically. At one point, the car turned into a bicycle, then back into a car again.

I passed an apartment complex under construction and saw people washing clothes by hand in a public pool, while others were bathing. Eventually, I came to a checkpoint. The people there were also dressed in Halloween costumes, like zombies. Because my car was decorated, they waved me through, allowing me to bypass the police inspection.

Then I received a phone call from a man named David, and I worried my husband might think I was having an affair.

End of first dream.

I don’t know the full interpretation, but “David” means beloved, which can symbolize love. Two thoughts came to mind:

First, “Forgive them, for they know not what they do.” I believe many people, including Christians, don’t truly understand the dangers and spiritual darkness tied to Halloween. If they did, they would not take part in it.

Second, perhaps God is offering a chance to repent. Out of His love, He extends mercy—even to those deeply entangled in sin and idolatry. Halloween is a very dark and spiritually dangerous day, and Christians should spend that time in prayer for the lost instead of participating.

The Second Dream

In this dream, I was married but separated from my husband. The house we were in was dimly lit and dirty. Yet, he began to act kind toward me, and I thought it might be a chance for reconciliation.

He now wore glasses, saying he could not see well. When we embraced, we clung to each other like magnets—I couldn’t pull away. A woman representing holiness entered the room, saw us, and began to cry. When I asked what was wrong, she said nothing, took a shirt to change elsewhere, and left the room.

Then my husband kissed me, and again, we seemed magnetically bound. It hurt to pull apart. He then turned on an old, large television, and a pornographic program appeared. In it, a man was mistreating a woman to satisfy himself, and the woman began to cry.

My husband then gestured for me to follow him into another room, and I sensed he wanted to imitate what he had seen. I sat on the bed, wondering if I should leave, knowing I would likely be hurt too.

When I awoke, my heart was pounding—something that usually means great evil was present in the dream. I also felt nauseated and deeply sad for the woman in the video.

End of second dream.

I believe this dream reveals the great grief God feels over the rampant sexual immorality in our world, even among Christians. Many men are spiritually blind, and this behavior is far from what God designed. True intimacy is meant to include love, care, and mutual respect—not pain or domination.

There are even Christian men who think watching pornography or treating women as objects is acceptable, but this is completely unbiblical. As Scripture says, “What fellowship has light with darkness?”

In the Book of Revelation, God calls His people to repent of their sexual immorality. There is still time to turn away from sin and never return to it—but that time is running short.
