Are You Rightly Dividing My Word?

My son, your heart was able to perceive the truth that I wanted you to see last night. As you listened to that sermon, initially you embraced what was said. But after you allowed my Spirit to speak to you, you began to understand where the preacher went astray.
The first sign was that your heart felt uncomfortable about the way in which my word was interpreted. You knew that the plain meaning of the text was rejected, and that the words were twisted. Twisted to try and prove the belief that pastor had. A belief that, later, you realized belonged to the error of hyper grace. A belief that could only be supported by making my word say something that it never said.
While the preacher was sincere, he was sincerely wrong. I want my children to know. To know the signs of a false teaching. While there may be many layers of meaning hidden in my word, that does not mean that you can try to make it say something that it does not say. Revelation brings enlightenment. Your spirit perceives a deeper meaning, and fills your heart with wonder.
A false word, on the other hand, will make no sense. If what they say leaves you confused and uncertain, beware. While there may be times your heart is not able to receive, most of the time this is a sign that the enemy has been able to plant a tare in the preacher’s mind. And it all occurs because he wants to be able to make the scripture support what he wants it to support.
When someone primarily interprets scripture because of some personal experience, beware. Your experience is not the measure regarding the truthfulness of what you say. No, scripture is the plumb line. That is, scripture proves scripture. If some interpretation cannot be confirmed by the entirety of my word, then lay it aside. Learn the discipline of being skilful in all of my word. Do not let those who have had some experience that seems good to them, try to convince you of the truth of it, by rejecting the plain meaning of a text in favor of one that makes no sense.
My people, the enemy has been given authority to test my servants the preachers as never before. He is seeking and sifting each and every one, in order to see which he may devour. This is why you are witnessing many righteous men of God stumble over one thing or another. In times past, these pet beliefs and blind spots did not control the man. Now, unbeknownst to them, those areas that they refused to submit to my correction have become their stumbling blocks. It may not manifest immediately. But once an entry is provided for error, it will work its way into the soul like leaven, until all is corrupted, unless they repent.
I have already told you that this is the age of deceit. This is the day that if it were possible, even the elect shall fall. And fall they have. They refused to let go of what seemed right to them, and deception is their reward. Remember that it is written that there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is death.
My church, I write these things to you in order that those things do not catch you unaware. Be not shocked or dismayed, regardless of how famous the man was who stumbles into darkness. Great testing demands great devotion. Great deceit demands great discernment. Study my word as never before. Be not afraid of the hard sayings that you find within.
Do you wish to stand? Then do what I say. Do you wish to be great in my kingdom? Then humble yourself by receiving correction. Forsake those pet beliefs that you refuse to let go of. If my word tells you that what you hold dear is not true, you must choose to be ruthless. Be ruthless with yourself, as the devil will be ruthless with you. Be ruthless to prune yourself or risk being swept away by the flood of lies that is now overspreading the earth.
For those who eagerly seek to be shepherded by the Great Shepherd himself, you will find much green pasture. Embrace my rod of correction, and you shall be defended from the wolves. Chafe at my discipline, and risk being led to a place of false comfort, where nothing but darkness awaits.
